This has been linked to several times already by bloggers with a far larger readership than I but if you haven't read Rosie's critique of Irish blogs then you ought to do so. It's already set a couple of high profile noses out of place but that is probably no bad thing.
Apologies for my lack of humour in recent posts, I'll be back posting stupid jokes and puerile stories soon.
Yeah, and probably putting up pictures of nice ladies too. I'm still taking thousands of hits for young Megan. The title "chancing my arm" may have slightly different connotations for American teenage boys.

thank you for the link, Andrew. i seem to have waded tits-deep into trouble alright.
Yeah, but does it really matter? The responses to your post suggest you were expressing something that other people were thinking. Mulley would have been better off not responding, as he's made himself look pretty silly in the process.
It must be tough at the top!
oops, typotastic this morning.
well, the comments suggest that i was expressing something that my readers were thinking, which Alexia has rightly pointed out is not a representative sample of irish blog readres in general. anyway, the shitstorm rages on...
Oh so contentious! I just like that debate has been sparked.
Rosie, its a representative sample insofar as I WASN'T a reader of your blog before, I just spotted the link on Darragh's page and had a gander. And I found myself agreeing with nearly everything you said. As a new blogger I've never been to the awards and don't know much about them but I can see where you're coming from with your criticisms of it.
What's really strange is that you didn't reall rip into anyone, yet some people have taken such offence. It kinda proves your point about everyone on the Irish scene being a bit too nice to each other.
*is slightly reassured*
